Abstract Expressions Exhibition
Opens July 26th!
Beat the heat and come out and see the latest exhibition of 52 images by 40 photographic and digital artists from Texas, the USA, Canada, UK and Mexico. The exhibition will open on Saturday, July 26 with a public and artists reception from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Come and meet the artists in attendance and enjoy a wonderful group of images celebrating the beauty found in the abstract representation of the visible world. The exhibit was juried by Zena Stetka-Howe, a local multi-media artst and Carol Watson, Gallery Director.
You'll also get a chance to see all images entered in the juried show as they cycle through on the ArtPOD, an flatscreen HDTV in the gallery.

Other art events in Johnson City on July 26th include an opening reception at the Kirchman Gallery just down the street and Arts Encounters weekend at the Benini Sculpture Ranch.
Carol Watson in Texas Photographic Society's Print Program
Members of the Texas Photographic Society joining at the Friend, Patron and Benefactor levels may choose from an exclusive selection of fine prints by prominent, contemporary photographers. Members who join or renew their TPS membership at the Friend Level or higher and can select one or more prints from five select artists for $225 or less per print.
Since the program’s inception in 1994, over 1,150 images have been purchased, raising over $200,000 for TPS. Proceeds from the print program are used to enhance and support TPS programs, most notably funding of TPS exhibition catalogues and numerous exhibits that TPS sponsors. Note, some of the prints are limited edition, you may want to renew or join before the edition is sold out.
Carol's image, "Swayback Barn" is part of this year's program along with photographs from Robert Lynn Ketchum, Lola Huitt, Paul Kozal, Jean Laughton and Natalie Young. More information can be found on the TPS website.
