Watson Studio Gallery is going on hiatus!!
With some sadness and much anticipation, Watson Studio
Gallery will be winding down our operations in Johnson
City, Texas next month. We'll be going on hiatus and focusing
over the next year on moving our operations to central Mexico!
We've purchased a beautiful art retreat (photo above)
in the town of Mineral de Pozos which is 35 miles outside of San
Miguel de Allende. The property includes a main casa as well as
large studio/classroom building and a separate gallery. The area
is a popular and inspiring destination for photographers and other
artists and we look forward to hosting photography tours, workshops
and photographic exhibitions there in the future!
In the meantime, Carol will be moving her photography studio
back into her home to work on a long list of personal photography
projects and continue to support the art community Central Texas.
Stay tuned for information about photographer, Amanda Stahl, who'll be taking over the gallery space in Johnson City!

Watson Studio Gallery had a wonderful 2.5 years in Johnson City, TX:
14 Photographic Exhibitions.... More than 750
images displayed... Over 400 Photograhers Shown... Images from
all over the world from the UK to Australia... Over $6,000 in
cash prizes awarded... And more than $4,000 raised for local charities.
A talented group of jurors helped select the
images for the shows, including: Zena Stetka Howe, George Krause,
Susan Burnstine, Laura Pickett Calfee, Polly Chandler, Christopher
James, Joseph Walsh and Lynne Eodice.
We also had great partnerships and support from
local galleries and businesses such as Kirchman Gallery, Benini
Sculpture Ranch, Friendly Bar, Copper Roof Catering, Black Spur
Emporium and Silver K Cafe. Thanks also to the JC Chamber of Commerce
for promoting our various events.
Many thanks to my gallery assistant, Matthew Sheffield, and my
husband, Charles Vance, for all the hours of hard work getting
ready for each exhibition!
